WHAT IS KAPPA LEAGUE?

Kappa League, formally known as the Kappa Instructional Leadership League, is the national youth initiative of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Kappa League focuses on training young men of color (but not exclusive to) 6th-12th grade for leadership, achievement and service in every field of human endeavor. Strong emphasis is placed upon personal development, academic achievement and college and career preparation.

IS KAPPA LEAGUE A FRATERNITY?

NO. Kappa League is a youth LEADERSHIP organization that is focused solely on the personal development, academic achievement and college and career preparation of its young members.

WHERE CAN I FIND A KAPPA LEAGUE PROGRAM IN MY AREA?

In the “About Kappa League” section you can scroll down to “Chapter Locator” and search for a Kappa League program in your area. If you do not see one, please contact us at  sacguideright@gmail.com  for more information.

WHAT ARE THE AGE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN KAPPA LEAGUE?

Age and admissions requirement vary by chapter. Please contact the local Kappa League director for more information regarding their requirements.

WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES OF KAPPA LEAGUE?

While activities will vary from chapter to chapter, almost all Kappa League chapters focus on: personal development, college preparation, community service, college field trips, career based field trips, youth leadership activities and mentoring.

IS KAPPA LEAGUE JUST FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN MALES?

Not at all. While there is a strong focus upon African American young men, Kappa Leagues throughout the country have members that reflect the global community of young men.

IS THE GOAL OF KAPPA LEAGUE TO HAVE ITS MEMBERS BECOME KAPPA’S?

Kappa League and Kappa Alpha Psi are two distinctly separate programs. The goal of Kappa League is to train and produce more achieving young men of color that will become leaders of impact and influence in today’s society.

Guide Right is a program for the educational and occupational guidance of youth, primarily inspirational and informational in character. Its reach extends to high schools and colleges alike.

Conceived in 1922 by Leon W. Stewart, and suggested at the twelfth Grand Chapter Conclave, Guide Right became the Fraternity's National Service Program.

The Stamford Alumni Chapter's Guide Right program is currently meeting every other Thursday at the Yerwood Center in Stamford CT. Meetings are held from 6:30 - 8:00 PM we welcome High School students to come and share with us their goals and aspirartions. We share our career paths, schooling, and college preparation.

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated Launches the National Financial Aid Awareness Initiative

In an effort to address the growing crisis of college access and affordability within underserved communities throughout the country, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated announces the launch of its National Financial Aid Awareness Initiative.

From January 15th through March 15th of 2014, undergraduate and alumni chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi will hold financial aid workshops and seminars throughout the country to promote financial aid awareness and encourage early completion of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) completion in order to improve college access and retention for students of color.

The Stamford Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated will be holding it’s Financial Aid workshop on January 25th 9:30 am of 2014 at the Norwalk Community College. The event is open to High School Seniors and their Parents and we ask that all attendees please bring

  • W-2 or recent pay stub
  • Name of colleges


The seminar will utilize the resources provided by the US Dept of Education’s Office of Student Aid.
